“An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.” (Proverbs 29:27)

The Lord has never called light and darkness by the same name. From the beginning, He divided what reflects His own holiness from all that rises in rebellion against it. He separated the day from the night, truth from the lie, righteousness from wickedness. His holiness knows no mixture, His truth yields no compromise, and His kingdom cannot be joined to another. Therefore the just and the wicked do not merely disagree—they stand upon opposite sides of the line God Himself has drawn. “For what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14).

When the Holy One walked among men, that line became visible in the flesh. Christ came full of grace and truth, yet His very presence uncovered the hidden loves of every heart. Those who hungered for righteousness were drawn to Him, while those who cherished their sin recoiled from His light. “Every one that doeth evil hateth the light.” (John 3:20). The world did not reject Him because His love was lacking, but because His holiness could not be embraced by a kingdom at war with God. “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own.” (John 15:19). In Him the ancient separation stood plainly revealed—the kingdom of God and the kingdom of this world could not become one.

The Spirit now forms that same likeness within all who belong to Christ. Their hearts are taught to love what their King loves and to turn from what He hates. “Ye that love the LORD, hate evil.” (Psalm 97:10). They do not seek separation for its own sake, nor do they delight in the world’s rejection. They simply walk in the way of the Upright One. And as His life is seen in them, the distinction God established from the beginning quietly remains. The kingdoms cannot blend, for the King upon the throne is holy. His righteousness endures forever, His truth shall never yield, and those who belong to Him shall one day dwell where nothing that defiles can ever enter.
